12 May How to Monitor and Report Covid-19 Vaccine Side-Effects

Before vaccination, go through the following:-
1. ASK – The person getting vaccinated should be asked whether they ever had a severe allergic reaction to a vaccine. If yes, they should be referred to a health specialist who will give proper protocols.
2. ASSESS – Health conditions listed as a precaution by the manufacturer or recognized health body should be taken into account. These conditions may include pregnancy, fatal disease, or any health conditions. Individuals with these conditions are eligible for vaccination but they should be offered expert advice and counseling.
3. COMMUNICATE – Common side effects after vaccination should be communicated which show a person’s body is building protection to the Covid-19 disease. Common side effects include mild fever, arm soreness, headaches, tiredness & muscle/joint pains.

5. Observe – The vaccinated individual should be observed for 15 minutes and told about how & where to report for severe reactions. People with past vaccine allergies should be observed for 30 minutes after they have been approved by a health specialist.
6. INFORM – The vaccinated individual should inform their medical officer immediately of any unexpected side effects during the observation period or later. Reporting and investigating adverse events will ensure the Covid-19 vaccines continue to meet high safety standards.
